American composer and trumpeter Anthony Plog has lived in Europe since 1990. He has held Solo Trumpet and co-solo Trumpet positions with the Malmo Symphony in Sweden and Basel Symphony in Switzerland respectively. In addition, he has served as Professor at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg, Germany since 1993.
Four Sketches for Brass Quintet was composed in the late 1980s as a commission for Mel Jernigan and the Saint Louis Brass Quintet.
